The auto-shot weaver
The most famous classic macro in the game: a castsequence that keeps auto-shot swinging at the weapon's true pace and sends the pet on the same key. The! prefix is the whole trick:
#showtooltip/castsequence reset=target !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot/petattack
Each press tries the next shot. If a shot is already in flight, the !keeps it flying. Mash or pace, the bow fires when it is ready and the pet attacks every press. The classic hunter solo key.
The multi-shot interleave
Same weaver idea, with multi-shot folded into the rhythm. Multi-shot's cooldown and the weave's step count line up closely enough that the classic weave is simply:
#showtooltip/castsequence reset=combat !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot, !Multi-Shot, !Auto Shot, !Auto Shot/petattack
Reset on combat keeps the weave honest between pulls, and the pattern keeps multi-shot from stalling your auto-shot, which plain spamming never manages.
Pet control, the classic way
The pet is a liability until it is bound. The leash habit: passive stance, follow calmly, send on your word. The binds below control the movements and stances:
#showtooltip/petpassive/petfollow
#showtooltip/petattack
The pet follows when you travel and attacks when you say so, which is how groups survive a hunter's first dungeon. The full family is on thepet macros page.
Aspect habits worth binding
Aspect management is a classic hunter tax, and a modifier bind keeps the tax off your attention. The pattern: shift for the group hawk, plain press for solo monkey:
#showtooltip/cast [mod:shift] Aspect of the Hawk; Aspect of the Monkey
Tune the aspect names to your era (the classic re-releases kept the original set), and the habit is bound. Together with the weaver, pet leashes, and thecastsequence reset rules, a classic hunter's bar is fully armed.
