Warrior macros (retail)

No stances to dance these days. Modern warrior macros are interrupts, cooldown chords, and the bind that never stops swinging.

The interrupt that never misses

The spec-agnostic kick: mouseover first, current target second, drop your own cast first thing. Swap the spell name for your spec's interrupt:

#showtooltip/stopcasting/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead] Pummel; [harm] Pummel

The pattern is on the mouseover page in full; this is the warrior incarnation.

The burst chord

The cooldown key: shift opens the trinket, shift+ctrl drops the major cooldown, plain press is your short cooldown. The chord layout from themodifiers page:

#showtooltip/cast [mod:shift,mod:ctrl] <major offensive cooldown>; [mod:shift] <trinket>; Whirlwind

Angle brackets mean your item: drop the trinket name in, test once, done. The same goes for the major cooldown, whose name changes with each tier's balance pass, which is exactly why the placeholder is the honest form.

The attack that stays glued to you

Startattack woven into a damage bind keeps your auto-attack swinging even when a button press fails. The habit from classic, still correct:

#showtooltip/startattack/cast Execute

Quality-of-life for the plate class

Two quiet adds round out the warrior bar. The mount bind from themounts page feels tailor-made for a plate wearer, and an emergency defensive on a spare key:

#showtooltip/cast [button:2] Dismount; <flying mount>; <ground mount>

Fill in your mounts, bind the interrupt and the chord, and a retail warrior's macro load is complete. Everything else is a rotation, and rotations belong tothe addon half of the line.

Questions people ask

Why are there no stance macros on this page?+
Modern warriors have one stance, so the classic stance-dance macros (see the classic warrior page) have no retail equivalent. Retail warrior macros gate on combat state and cooldowns instead: which interrupt you have, when the burst window is.
Which interrupt should I put in the macro?+
Your spec's kick: Pummel for arms, Shield Bash for protection, Storm Bolt for fury. The bind shape is the same regardless, so swap the name once per spec and never again.
Do these macros survive balance patches?+
The patterns do. Ability names have been stable for years (interrupts, charge, execute, trinkets), but before every raid tier, glance at your spellbook: if a rename happened, the fix is a one-word edit, not a rewrite.
